Item Description: <tr><td><font size="3" color="#6F1504" face="Arial"> <p><u><b>Details</u></b> <ul> <li><b>Description: </b>A small art pottery glazed redware jug with an applied handle. The jug has an ovoid shape with a small round and flat base with flared rounded sides rising to a broad shoulder tapering into a slightly flared neck having a simple rounded collar. The jug has an applied arch shaped handle extending down from the side of the neck and attaching to the jug's shoulder. The piece has a beautiful glaze giving it an orange-brown colored background with shades of yellow and crystalline highlights resulting in a beautiful flambé-like decoration. <br><br> <li><b>Date: </b>Early to mid 1900s. <br><br> <li><b>Origin: </b>Purchased in an estate auction in Southeastern Pennsylvania. <br><br> <li><b>Size: </b>1 5/8" in diameter at the base, 3 1/2" diameter at its widest, and 4 3/16" high <br><br> <li><b>Maker: </b>Unknown. <br><br> <li><b>Marks: </b>Unmarked. <br><br> <li><b>Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: </b>This is a very beautiful piece of art pottery that is very well done and would display very well <br><br> <li><b>Condition: </b> Jug is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines, or repairs. It does have considerable crazing to the glaze, which gives it a very nice character which is not very obvious in the photos and is much nicer when you see the piece in person. It also has one or two small spots where the glaze is lost on the inside of the top rim, which are hard to see but can be felt. <br><br> <li><b>In Closing: </b>This is a great miniature jug which is beautiful, solid and in great shape after being around for almost 100 years. The nice colored glazed surface makes it a very nice piece to display. This jug deserves a prominent spot in any redware collection or would add a beautiful accent to your home decor. <br></center></td></tr></table></center></div>
