Offered is a miniature oil of Napoleon II signed Isabey. It is after the painting by T Lawrence "King of Rome". Napoleon II was born in 1811 and died in 1832. He was the son of Napoleon and Marie Louise. He was known as King of Rome from 1811-1814 and the "Prince of Parma" from 1814-1818. His father abdicated in 1815 and then he was known as Napoleon II to the French Bonapartists but he never ruled. After 1815 he was a virtual prisoner in Austria where he died of TB in 1832. Jean Baptiste Isabey was the court painter to Napoleon I. Piece is in good as found condition. The original glass is broken but shown wrapped in tape. Isabey's works sell from $5000 to the High $100,000s. Think both investment and beauty.It came out of a New York City estate. Shipping is NO Charge anywhere in the USA. Thanks and good luck bidding.
