The box is decorated with a stamped design of an urn with flowers and eagles on either side all surrounded by a nice filigree design. The box has a hinged lid with a thumb piece. The bottom or base of the piece is also decorated with a stamped filigree design. This snuffbox is has a worm gray appearance and is gray in color. <br><br> <li><b>Date: </b>Early to mid Nineteenth century. <br><br> <li><b>Origin: </b>Probably German <br><br> <li><b>Size: </b>3 1/4" by 1 7/8" and is 5/8" high. <br><br> <li><b>Maker: </b>Unknown <br><br> <li><b>Marks: </b>Unmarked <br><br> <li><b>Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: </b>An antique and beautiful piece with a nice and uncommon design. <br><br> <li><b>Condition: </b>The box is in very good condition with no major problems. The lid still closes, but is not tight fitting. It has lettering scratched on the inside of the lid and a few minor dings to the side and bottom of the box. Other than that it is in great condition for being almost 200 years old. It also has scratches and minor wear throughout commensurate with its age and utilitarian function.
