Good Morning Young Lady
by Ardyth Kennelly
Very Fine Condition
Description:
A wonderful “coming of age” novel, fictional but includes anecdotes based on the life of Butch Cassidy. It is the story of Dorney Leaf, who comes to Salt Lake City at fourteen to live with her much older sister Madge and Madge's spoiled and selfish daughter. Through the magic of her warm and loving nature, Dorney transforms the drudgery of her daily existence into a dream world where anything might happen. She lives for the day when the famous outlaw Butch Cassidy will come and carry her off on his black horse. To Dorney all things are possible, so it is hardly surprising that her hero, Butch Cassidy, should come to Madge's little house to find her. This is a remarkable novel, a romantic fantasy played against a background as rich and warm and down to earth as any of Dickens'. Dorney is more than a Cinderella; she is an eager, appealing, and very human girl, and no one can read about her without loving her.
