This picture was originally painted by famous artist, Fra Angelico, and is a detail from the Linaiuoli Triptych. This loving angel, whose name means, "Hero of God" is commonly known for being the bearer of good news. Gabriel’s face and robe are highly detailed and beautiful. His red robe is bright and vibrant. The gold textured matting is arched above Gabriel. Under him, in large fancy lettering reads, "Gloria in Excelsis", which translates to "Glory to God in the Highest". Original, gold painted, wood frame. The paper backing is torn. Old wire hanger and glass. This piece is in excellent original condition with age-appropriate wear.
