The picture of this cherub is a detail of the Sistine Madonna. This litho print was originally painted by famous artist, Raphael, in circa 1514. This was one of Raphael's last pieces he painted before he past away. The background color is a beautiful robin's egg blue and the wings of the cherub are multi-colored. The cherub is nicely detailed with very pleasing features. The black and gold color around the lithograph is reverse painted on the glass with a fine, rope-turned, brass frame. Original back and metal chain hanger. This antique Victorian stove pipe cover is in excellent original condition with age-appropriate wear. His most brilliant works include the stanzas inside the Vatican, and Madonnas which he portrayed with human emotions, as no artist had previously done.
