Item Description: Drei Katzen Media Consigns Exquisite Quality Antiques from an International Estate! I have recently established a partnership with a wonderful consignor. Due to retirement and other reasons, they have decided to downsize their large, very beautiful and lovely estate. The items being offered are guaranteed authentic antiques where noted. The items I have listed, have been in her family since first purchased, as far back as the 1700’s. She can remember some items in usage from the 1940’s onward, others she has given me an oral history about, as well as provided proper research, to assure you that this item is as represented here. I can assure you with my guarantee, this is a very trusted consignor and she stands behind her authenticity as represented here. All of the items being listed are authentic, high quality and would be a pleasure to add to your collection. The owner has offered to work very closely to help answer questions concerning the items. <br></br> This oyster plate is absolutely exqusite! I have not seen any other oyster plates to rival this oyster plate for uniqueness and interesting design! This plate has 6 wells, as do most of the early plates. This plate is also embossed with the stamp of the artist. Please refer to the last photo. This is the artist's mark on the plate. It is very rare to find a oyster plate with the artist mark! This plate has all the right stuff you need in a collectible plate! It is painted with the seaweed design. There are crabs and oysters in the wells. On the back of the plates they are marked, Union Porcelain, and a pat. date Feb. 4 '79. This plate does have a repair. It can be seen in the photos. I took a photo from the front and the back where the plate was repaired. You can barely see the repair from the front, only because you know it is there and are looking for it can you spot it. The back it can be seen because the glue has turned brown. Please message with any questions you may have before bidding... I looked these plates up on the internet to see if I could find a name for the pattern. There are two people in Paris who maintain an Oyster plate museum. They did have this plate. They rated the plates according to rarity and this plate was given 4 out of 5 stars to designate it as a RARE plate to have! Measures: 9.5"dia.
