This is an ornate frilled white silk and cotton party dress with lace from the late Victorian era to early Edwardian years. This dress has a heavily frilled lace yoke, pleats, lace edged sleeves and lace inserts on the lower part of the skirt.
The dress might be either loosely bloused, or bunched with a sash into a blouson low waist effect. Flounces in this era were very popular.
It closes in the back with it's very pretty original antique star pattern buttons. They are really special.
This dress would look lovely on a large French Jumeau bebe, Steiner, Gaultier, Bru or big German bisque head dolly faced child doll. This will make your doll the princess of your collection!
I did not have a fabric tape measure, so I used a regular metal tape measure to try to get approximate measurements for this gown. It seems to be too big for a typical baby or infant of the era. It might have fit a 2-4 year old child (this is only a guess).
I am also guessing that this dress would fit a big old doll about 30-33" tall. Please measure your doll to see if it will fit as all sales are final. If it is going to be too long on your doll you can always add a bow or ribbon around the waist and blouse it up to make it shorter.
I welcome any questions you may have about this dress, because I am not an expert on antique textiles.
Approximate Measurements:
Shoulder Seam to Shoulder Seam Across: 9 inches
Sleeve Length from Shoulder Seam To Cuff: 11 1/4 inches long
Waist: 13 1/2 inches across flat; (27 inches around)?
Length From Shoulder Seam to Hem: 20 1/2 inches long
Underarm Seam To Underarm Seam: 10 1/2 inches across front of dress when flat.
Chest Across Front: 13 inches across (26 inches around)?
Condition:
Has some holes in the lace, some separtion from lace seams in some areas (still intact, but a little loose), Slight melting, lace on one sleeve edge seam needs to be re-stitched back on the cuff. Pretty clean looking, with slight staining.
Fancy dresses like this were worn by the richer class people in society to show off their wealth through their dress. Poorer Victorian people, whether adults or children wore simpler practical clothes made from plain linen, cotton, wool and lesser coarser fibres out of practical necessity.
wealthy children were dressed lavishly as many family portraits suggest. Poor children wore tattered hand me downs or clothes made of coarse woollens and rougher cottons or mixtures like fustian.
You can see by the quality of this dress some lucky little girl once wore it and kept it dear to her heart.

Feedback and Detailed Seller Ratings
Positive Feedback For You.
I will do my best to leave positive feedback for you as soon as your item ships. However, during busy periods, it may take a couple of days before I leave positive feedback for you, so I ask that you please be patient, and rest assured that I haven't forgotten about you, and that I will get to it as soon as I can.
Please leave us Five-Star DSR's (Star Ratings) after your item arrives, if you are pleased with your purchase, shipping speed, and customer service.
I politely request that you leave positive feedback for me and 100% FIVE-STAR scores.
The (DSR) star rating scores in Ebay feedback plays an important part in my success on eBay. I am not a big business and am just selling here to make some extra money to pay some bills.
Even though many people consider "4-Stars" to be a good score... eBay considers "4-Stars" to be sub-standard. In fact, anything less than 5-stars actually hurts my business. (ie: higher monthly fees, and lower visibility in eBay search results.)
Communication Is The Key!
Please remember that I'm only human, and that sometimes I may make a mistake. So... in the unlikely event that something went wrong, or if there's a problem with your purchase... I will do my best to resolve it in an effort to earn a positive feedback... but you have to let me know if something is wrong, otherwise I won't be able to do anything about it.
Negative Feedback posted in haste does NOT solve problems. If anything about your transaction is not to your satisfaction, please contact me BEFORE leaving feedback and BEFORE rating the DSR's (star-scores). I'm an honest seller and I strive to make every customer happy... so if there's a problem, please give me a fair chance to make things right and to earn your Positive Feedback and 100% perfect "Five-Star" scores from you.
The identification and dating of Antiques and Decorative Arts is at times a more or less subjective endeavor. For a variety of reasons, one ‘expert’s’ results can differ from another’s. My descriptions are based on my researches and experience. The time to question these, is before bidding, not after. I go to great lengths to be as accurate as possible and to provide enough photographs to allow the buyer to exercise their own judgment. However, I cannot be responsible for differing opinions, when brought into play after the close of an auction. If you remain uneasy about an item I am listing, even after contacting me, the decision to bid will be your responsibility.
I do not smoke, but do not know how many smoking homes these antique / vintage items have been in for all these years. I do have 2 dogs, but all my items for sale are kept behind glass or away from my pets.
If you have any questions please email me. I would be glad to answer your questions quickly. All sales are final as these items are vintage, antique or very old. Antique or vintage items are used and I never describe them as mint.
Any flaws I see will be noted in auction description. However, antique and vintage items are not perfect and may have imperfections from age that I may have missed by accident. I provide lots of photos at many different angles for you to see the condition very well. Therefore no partial refunds will be allowed. If anything needs to be returned you will pay return shipping. Refund will not include original shipping costs and item must be returned in the same condition as sent. More pictures will be furnished glady upon request. By bidding you agree to these terms. Thanks.
I pack antiques, porcelain, delicates, and collectibles with plenty of care. No need to worry. I usually have very fragile items professionally packed by the UPS Store and pay for that service out of my own pocket. I think my customers are worth the extra effort. Fragile items will be packed in layers of bubblewrap, and the box will be padded with plenty of cushioning.

Payments must be received within 7 days after auction closes otherwise I will file an unpaid item dispute with ebay and relist the item immediately.
If you need a little more time to pay for your items, please email me before making a purchase. There is a possibility we can work out a payment or layaway plan. Just remember to email me for details first, otherwise I need to stick to the original 7 day payment plan as stated above.
If a layaway or payment plan is okayed by me, a non-refundable good faith down payment of 30% must be paid to hold the item. If buyer changes his or her mind, the 30% down is non-refundable and can only be used as a credit in my ebay store and is good for 6 months.
All sales are final. Please ask questions before buying. I will be glad to answer any questions you may have quickly.
More pictures available upon request.

I am not making money on shipping. Shipping cannot be negotiated after the listing ends. Please make sure you agree on shipping price before bidding. I wish the USPS and UPS didn't raise prices. I am so sorry for the extra shipping costs to you and hope you will understand. If the shipping I quote you in the listing is less than I anticipated I will refund you the difference if it is over $4. I have most of my fragile items professionally packed at the UPS Store and pay for it out out of my own pocket. Packing materials are very costly.
Thanks so much for understanding.
Insurance is a must. I fully insure all items. I do not ship my items out unless they are insured. By Bidding you agree to pay the insurance costs which will be calculated at the end of the auction according to the final item price. If item arrives broken, you must keep all of the original packing material and box, otherwise insurance claim will be voided. By bidding or buying you also agree to cooperate with filling out insurance claim forms and filing at your local post office. Insurance claims may take 30 days or more to be paid out.
